Food Network and Lent

There are a handful of shows on Food Network that I record and watch regularly. I like watching cooking shows because I can easily be doing something else (cooking, playing with H Money, etc) while they’re on and I’ve gotten some wonderful recipes while watching them. My favorite show for recipes is Secrets of a Restaurant Chef with Anne Burrell. She’s kinda crazy and uses a LOT of salt, but I have actually made a couple of her recipes and been really pleased.
Iron Chef America is another favorite of mine. It’s fun to watch and the food usually looks good. It’s the show that brings me to the title. For Lent That Daddy and I gave up meat and sweets. The chefs on Iron Chef America always seem to be using Wagyu beef and since we’re only eating meat on Sundays it just looks that much better. I keep talking about wanting to find someone to take us out for Wagyu beef (so we don’t have to pay, of course) and That Daddy usually just laughs.
